Paradise now !, air work
With Modernity, the representation stop to be a mode of architectural
mediation. It leaves us without a satisfying mode of expression for the
unspeakable and the transcendent. While functionalism as immediate presence
can answer material needs, it has trouble articulating the immaterial.
Between sterile returns to the symbolic and inadequate banality, the elaboration
of a new mediation is missing, which we would like to translate today using
concepts such as immersion, ingestion, impregnation. Paradise now ! is
a project for a contemporary spatiality of the ineffable. With no materiality
or physical limits other than smell, Paradise Now! develops in space to
take shape on the proteins of the celiar membrane, inside the abstraction
of the nervous system. Musk, aloua, rayhan, milk, honey, wine, as the fragrance
of the Islamic paradise, and some touches from the Christian heaven, such
incense and Judea balm...
